Eight teams from five countries (Romania, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Moldova, Hungary) competed for the 10,000 euros prize and the big winner was Random 5. They managed to defeat the Romanian team Urban Esports in the grand final by 3 to 1, who had started as favorites in the competition. The four matches were a great show that proved that Romania can be the country where League of Legends is at home.

Over 15,000 people watched the final on the Digital Crusade’s YouTube and Twitch channels. Fans were able to make predictions, were greeted with surprises and prizes in the form of 150 Hextech Chests via chat, and watched an outstanding showmatch between Cătălin Moroșanu and Mihai Zamfirache, one of the best players of the moment.

The Digital Crusade Season 4 finale marked the end of a journey of over 3 months, and the response from the audience has been tremendous. So was the response from the participating players: “It was the best competition ever organized in the Balkans” said Lyuben “LUBEEENZZZ” Hadzhiev, Random 5’s top player, while Miroslav “Spooky” Gochev, Random 5’s jungler, said: “If this is the beginning, I can’t even imagine what the future will look like, it’s crazy!”

Players who qualified for the competition ranged in experience level from established professionals and Balkan legends to new players who were new to serious competitive experience. There were pleasant surprises like the Racquestai team from Ukraine, but also dramatic moments like Nexus KTRL qualifying, first in the deciding match against OneTap Gaming, and then in the tiebreak match against Lenovo Legion Honved.

“Although we encountered difficulties and obstacles of logistical, organizational, and epidemiological nature, we managed to overcome them and organize an event with a high level of production and quality. We would like to thank all the fans who have followed us and let them know that without them this event would not have been possible. Our team’s effort was huge and we are honored to have received great feedback from everyone who was involved in Digital Crusade Season 4.” said Mihai Cotos, CEO of Digital Crusade.

The experience and memories of this edition will make next year’s event even more ambitious, as Digital Crusade’s mission has always been to make a spectacular evolution in the competitive video game phenomenon. Of course, the road to this ideal would not have been possible without our partners: Riot Games, Creatopy, Pizza Hut Delivery, Campofrio, Lenovo Legion, Logitech, Mercedes Benz by ATP Motors, Banca Transilvania, Urban Monkey, Cluj City Hall, CREIC, Hampton by Hilton, Iulius Mall, Borsec, and Romanian Esports League.
